Reasons to join

Some advantages of taking out a membership

  • Medal competitions at least three times a week during the playing season.
  • No parties of visitors allowed on Saturday or Sunday mornings so the course is held just for members at the key times.
  • Downfield is a club run by the members for the membership. You are an owner of the club so your fees are solely for the club.
  • Fully stocked Pro shop with special offers and fully trained friendly staff on hand at all times.
  • Great social calendar and clubhouse environment with terrific food available for you and your guests with value-for-money prices.
  • Preferential green fees at other golf courses within the James Braid association. (Click here for more information)
  • As a member of the Club, you can buy the Scottish Golf Card which gives 50% off standard fees at many other courses across Scotland
  • The opportunity to play golf as often as you like (or have the time to golf) at one of the top 20 inland courses in the country.
  • Gain an official CONGU handicap – only by being a member of an SGU/SLGA affiliated golf club can you attain an official CONGU handicap, giving you the opportunity to play competitions at your home course and others.
Play in Matches against other clubs – being part of a club, you will have opportunity of representing your club in matches against other clubs, in your local area of further afield, whether you are a senior or junior, man or woman.
The non-playing category is available to those who would like to use the club from a social aspect only. This means you can come to the Club house for drinks, coffee, lunch and enjoy our social even
